No. Walk-ins are welcome during shop hours. If you have a heavy standard machine or several typewriters, a quick call ahead helps us have a bench ready.

A standard cleaning and service for a manual portable is our most common job and the most affordable. Repairs, platen work, and restorations are quoted individually after a bench inspection. You always receive a written estimate before work begins.

Most services and repairs are completed within one to two weeks. Restorations and jobs requiring hard-to-find parts take longer, and we will give you a realistic timeline when we quote.

Yes. We service classic electric typebar machines, IBM Selectrics, and electronic daisy-wheel typewriters from Brother, Smith-Corona, Panasonic, and others.

We maintain a large parts inventory, keep donor machines, and work with platen recovering specialists. Most repairs are possible; when a part is truly unobtainable we will tell you up front.

Yes. We stock ribbons for the vast majority of manual and electric machines plus Selectric cartridges, and we can re-spool onto original metal spools.

Only if you ask. Our default is to preserve original paint and decals, and we will explain how repainting affects value before you decide.

Absolutely. Call or email first and we will send packing instructions. Proper packing prevents the carriage damage that ruins many shipped machines.

We occasionally sell serviced machines from the shop and can advise on buying. Ask about current availability when you visit.

Often yes. A properly serviced Smith-Corona or Royal portable is a wonderful daily writer regardless of its resale value. We will be honest if a repair does not make sense.
